As the names suggests, control craft were used to ensure that waves of landing craft beached at the desired time and place. Some types were not considered landing craft. The British LCC was a converted Fairmile B motor launch, while the US-built LCC were specially built. These types were fitted with a variety of communications and navigational equipment.
